Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CoachOS Chess ("CoachOS", "we", "us"), a chess coaching platform operated by the CoachOS team. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to use CoachOS. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

2. The service

CoachOS provides tools for chess coaches and their students, including game import and analysis, lesson management, homework, puzzle assignments, and weekly reports. Specific features available to you depend on your plan.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service unlawfully, fraudulently, or to send spam;
• infringe intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
• upload malware, probe or scrape the service, or attempt to interfere with its security;
• resell, sublicense, or redistribute the service without our written consent.

4. Payments and subscriptions

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis until canceled. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms in addition to our Refund Policy.

5. Intellectual property

CoachOS, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within your active plan. You retain ownership of content you upload (e.g. games, notes, reports) and grant us a limited license to host and process it solely to provide the service.

6. Service availability

We work hard to keep CoachOS reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change as the product evolves.

7. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated policy violations. You may stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. On termination, you may export your data within a reasonable window before it is deleted.

8. Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service will not exceed the fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the effective date above and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email.
